Applications for an award are forwarded to the District Environmental Sustainability Chair who reviews the submission with members of the district's Environmental Sustainability Committee. The final decision to approve the award is made by the district governor. Qualified clubs will receive their awards at the District Conference
While the requirements for Bronze are relatively simple, they gradually become stricter for Silver and Gold.
This begins with the appointment of a Club Environmental Officer who will be (ex officio) a member of the District 7040 Environment Committee and the catalyst to form and lead an Environmental Committee or work team in your club. Encourage your members to sign up for The Carbon Footprint Pledge. Dedicate time to the environment and voila, you're in contention for bronze. Application forms attached.
