Happy New Year....to all 7040 Rotarians and in particular all new Club Presidents throughout the District....it’s going to be a great year.

The DG Team’s top three goals for this year are to:
  1. Support the new RI President’s, Mark Maloney, #1 Goal “Grow Rotary”. See Click Me button.
  2. To promote and increase teamwork at the Club, Area and District Level.
  3. To increase the number of clubs leading, participating in or donating to International Service projects.
More info will follow in next month’s Newsletter and DG visits.
Note: This is the first edition of the Districts Newsletter. It was created to consolidate and communicate information to all members of our District.

The District Changeover Dinner was this past weekend.  My thanks go out to the Rotary Club of Canton, NY, and to the Canton Best Western Hotel for hosting the event and making it so much fun. Special thanks go out to Bonnie Black(Tech Support+), Dale Kramer(MC), Sonya Butler(Hotel POC), plus Ron Patnode, Mike Crowe, Anna Van Adrichem Rochon (Photos/YouTube), my wife, Susan, and many others from Canton Club and the District for setting up the event. As part of the festivities Hadi Mortada DG-Elect, Fay Campbell DG-Nominee, and Martha Weaver IPDG were all installed via a pinning ceremony. See YouTube video https://youtu.be/fkX-BGHvSJc.
My attention will now shift to working with the Area Governors to set up my DG Club Visits between now and December along with the District Conference.

Friendship exchange-l'échange d'amitié

Friendship exchange is a great way to meet new Rotarians and see the good that they are doing in the world. It is a great way to discover and enjoy new cultures while staying in the homes of local Rotarians. We may also find opportunities for partnership on projects.

I would encourage all the members in the District to consider a Friendship Exchange. It is a rich, eye-opening experience, that can lead to wonderful friendships.
