Sharing Our Mental Health Journey - Michael Dixon

Born in Transconia, Manitoba. Married to Tracey for over 30 years, with 3 children: Kealey (spouse. Ilya), Taylor (partner Taylor), Connor. Member of Stittsville Rotary Club.

He has worked in the funeral profession for over 30 years. Currently working at Barkers’ Funeral home in Carleton Place.

Founder of Reach Up Ottawa, charity for Youth Mental Health.

Former Ottawa chairperson for Partners for Mental Health.

Former Coach with Kanata hockey, football, and soccer.

President and Founder of Funeral Professionals Peer Support, international peer support network for people in the Funeral Service Profession.

Michael was diagnosed with severe depression and PTSD in 2016.

Michael has spoken to the Ontario legislative committee and the House of Commons committee concerning mental health issues in Ontario and Canada.

Michael a reçu un diagnostic de dépression sévère et de SSPT en 2016.

Michael a parlé au comité législatif de l'Ontario et au comité de la Chambre des communes concernant les problèmes de santé mentale en Ontario et au Canada.
