It is with great pleasure that we announce the selection of Teresa Whitmore, Rotary Club of Orleans, to serve as 7040 District Governor for the 2024-2025 Rotary year. She will be District Governor Nominee Designate until July.
 
Teresa has volunteered throughout her entire working life. Her experience includes serving as President of the real estate board, President of UNIFEM Canada, President of the United Way as well as a variety of other charities. She is Past President of the Rotary Club of Orleans.

In 2016 she was the District Conference chair for DG Nabil Oudeh and again for DG Hadi Mortada in 2021. She currently serves as the AG for 6 of the 11 clubs in our area and is the chair of the Foundation Annual Fund committee.

Teresa has been a full time Realtor for more than 30 years, specializing in military and relocation moves. She also specializes in expat moves to Panama, Latin America. Her previous career included time with Air Canada and then as manager of a travel agency for 15 years.

She was elected as a city councillor for the City of Belleville and served on two Economic Development Commissions for the city and region. In that capacity she travelled to South Korea on Economic Trade Missions. She also served as the Chair of the Conservation Authority for our city. She has stayed involved in the political process by serving as the Chair of the Business Advisory Committee for the city of Ottawa, whose mission was to act as the voice for small to medium size enterprises throughout the city. She served on the Economic Development Committee for Orleans and is currently an Ambassador for the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.

Teresa believes that one must give back to their community if you expect your community to support you in your own business.
