Lake Placid NY Rotary Club – 16th Annual and BEST DUCK RACE EVER!

With appropriate words said to honor the memory of those lost on September 11, 2001, our Rotary Club conducted its major fundraiser of the year, benefitting numerous organizations in the Lake Placid area.  On a sunny and warm late afternoon, attendees were able to enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner prior to the race.  Entertainment was provided in the form of a mechanical bull and jousting pit.  Top prize in this year’s race was $1,500 with numerous other prizes such as gas cards, dinner certificates and movie tickets.  We are very pleased to thank our community and to report this appears to be our best duck race fundraiser, netting over $16,000 for our Donations Committee to distribute.

The Rotary Club of Lake Placid NY featured a summary of all our activities in a recent column that ran in our local paper, The Lake Placid News. You can access the article here

We put in the books with another great Dam Duck Race to benefit many organizations in the Lake Placid community. Unfortunately, Tina passed away shortly after this picture was taken.
