On November 23rd, the International Service Committee of the Rotaract Club of Ottawa hosted the Loft Board Game Night at the Loft Board Game Lounge in Ottawa. At the event there were 65 friends and community members who were looking for a fun night out to play board games with friends while also donating to a great cause. There was also a raffle draw for four tickets to an Ottawa 67's hockey game. All of the proceeds, which ended up totaling to $833, were donated the ECHO Haiti for their Light for the Victims of Hurricane Matthew project in Haiti. The organization used the money to buy solar lamps for families and hospitals in the affected areas of Haiti. They will be used for light as well as an alternative energy source to charge phones and other electronic devices until the electricity is restored in these areas. The event was overall extremely successful. Thank you again to everyone who was able to come out to the event!
